Dubai: A Fusion of Architectural Wonder and Design Inspiration
One of the best parts of travelling for me is seeing how different cities interpret design, and my recent trip to Dubai was a perfect example. Dubai isn’t just a city of towering skyscrapers; it's a place where architecture speaks volumes about innovation and creativity. I was mesmerised by how every building tells a story, from the sleek modernity of the Burj Khalifa to the traditional influences of the Al Fahidi Historical District.
What really captivated me was the balance between old and new, and how that can translate into interior design. The contrast between glass and steel, set against intricate Arabic patterns, sparked my imagination. I couldn’t help but think how these elements could inspire spaces back home. A room could embody that same Dubai spirit by blending minimalist design with rich textures, patterns, and bold architectural details.
Travelling through cities like Dubai, I’m constantly reminded that good architecture isn’t just about structure—it’s about creating an experience. Whether it’s through large open spaces, unexpected materials, or dramatic lighting, there’s so much to learn from the places we visit. Dubai made me want to bring a bit of that grandiosity and thoughtfulness into my designs, creating spaces that feel both modern and timeless.
